The Only Experience Required is a Lived Experience
“Designated Lived Experience roles include all positions that require lived experience as key criteria, regardless of position type or setting. Key to qualification for Lived Experience roles, is that the experiences were so significant they caused the individual to reassess and often change their lives, their future plans, and their view of themselves”
– National Lived Experience (Peer) Workforce Development Guidelines
If this is your personal experience, we believe that you’ve already completed the entry qualifications for a Mental Health Peer Worker role at Recovery Shared.
Beyond this, we’ve found that the learning pathway for great Mental Health Peer Workers is primarily experiential. We therefore empower our team to gain practical experience within a supportive structure of stable employment (not gig work) covered by the industry award, weekly one-on-one mentoring, regular clinical supervision and opportunities to develop a diverse skillset with a broad range of clients.
It’s our experience that those who are well supported, support others well.
Everyone at Recovery Shared has personal lived experiences of mental health concerns and recovery, drawing on these to inspire and empower people toward better mental health.
So, if you’re compassionate, dependable, and passionate about delivering excellence in mental health support, we’d love to hear from you...
